Fisherman's Outpost is family owned and operated by long-time Poway residents, Frank and Jeanne Pasalich. Having started Tight Line Plastics with a partner, the Pasalich family has been involved in the San Diego fishing community as makers of some of the finest hand-poured plastics since 1990.
In 1996 they launched a solo operation, Artifishables Plastics, hand-pouring both freshwater worms and saltwater swimbaits. Artifishable Plastics can still be found in tackle stores today, including locally at Pacific Coast and Angler's Choice.
In 2007, after hearing the voice of local anglers, Frank and Jeanne revived the Flutter Craft line after being out of production for over 15 years. Flutter Craft's Hottie and Screamer models were legendary fish-catchers in San Diego, and now they're back! The same ole' Flutter Crafts that produced tournament winning limits in the '80s and '90s are now available again at retailers across the country.
Frank's interest in fishing sprouted from his days growing up fishing Lake Poway with childhood friends Mike Long and John Kerr. His fishing experience spans across the entire county and beyond, having fished everything locally from the Salton Sea out into the Pacific. Frank competed in local freshwater bass team tournaments as well, earning the American Bass Association Angler of the Year title in 1991. With his first child due, and a budding lure business Frank stepped away from tournament fishing immediately after.
Selling fishing tackle is also not new to Frank Pasalich, having worked 10 years at Poway Bait & Tackle. The Pasalich's newest fishing company, Fisherman's Outpost now provides a direct avenue for local anglers to quickly get their hands on not only the hot products from Flutter Craft and Artifishables, but products from many other top manufacturers as well.
